What are said weird items in your culture that other might find strange? For instance, in Germany <3 it is incredibly offending to cheer a toast with water, as it is a supersition of a curse. Essentialy means you wish them death. Also, saying the wrong kind of cheer is a curse of death. You also can't knock on a door thrice. Guess why?
It's believed by some as a curse to death.
We really like curses.

It translates itself to "Dutch Rusk with little mice
Ofcourse it aint real mice, its a sprinkle like thing made from anise
