No just batten is merican Well MLK Jr, Gandhi and Mandela are known virtually worldwide because they didn't make innovations in stuff like music, science, literature, etc., they were defenders of equality and social justice, and there are more people who care about those ideals than say music. The reason I don't know Chopin is because I don't care about music at all really. Another reason why these three are more well known that Chopin is because they are simply inspiring. MLK organizing the Montgomery Bus Boycott and gathering mass support for it among his fellow African-Americans and that they had to walk to work everyday instead of take the bus, Nelson Mandela willing to go to jail for more than a decade for his beliefs, Mahatma Gandhi taking his famous Salt March in order to fight against the British Salt laws. These are incredibly inspiring tales...what has Chopin done that is inspiring? His music? I doubt his music is as inspiring as the actions of these men. People just love hearing inspiring tales such as the stories of these three. |
