The Poles under Napoleon were badass though. They were the first to enter Russia and the last to leave

Why wouldn't Napoleon to use foreigners as his rearguard? They were never French, and so the horrendous casualties amongst some Polish units were of no cost to him, and their sacrifice not even repaid as Poland was never freed. I support Dombrowski as a Maréchal d'Empire (I am/was one too) but I do not support Napoleonsince he will not give support to a free Poland in the manner I think Poland deserves

First, their national anthems would be missing many parts and secondly the Polish wouldn't have been independent as the Duchy of Warsaw for years

This is an excellent point, I just think that the lives lost to benefits gained is not in Poland's favor. Maybe if Lannes or Davout or Dombrowski had more commands of Polish units their numbers would have faired better, but Polish forces always seem to be fighting either under incompetent leaders, or against ridiculous odds. Because Poland.

Napoleon did say, 800 Polish soldiers is equivalent to 8,000 of their foes.
Also shoutout to the French, who were much more keen on exact figures for stuff captured/destroyed over friendly losses

The Vistula Legion were among the best. Krakusi Regiment was awesome too.

The Italians never played as large a part either, they were not sent into a slaughter to protect the rear for the French as much as the Poles (What I am trying to say is, to be fair to Italians, they never got their time to shine like the Polish)

This sort of reminds me of how in WWI, the Germans, Austrians and Russians tried to convince the Poles to fight for them instead of the enemy, but what ended up happening was just that Polish Brigades of the Austro-German Armies would be killing fellow Polish Brigades of the Russian Army.

Poland cannot into empire because Polish military is too agreeable, passively oriented, and easily persuaded
