Maybe I haven't searched enough but, there are really little amount of D-Day footages for such a largely-hailed operation. Anyone knows why?

Ooh ooh! I know I know!
While D-Day was very historical, it occured at a time where technology made it very difficult to film events, and transporting the bulky equipment required would be too difficult. Very few filming apparatus were brought with and many of them were lost or broken in the fighting.

D-Day wasn't an assured victory either...and I'm sure the military didn't want too many people filming this event in case it went south fast.

Dom Pedro is correct, the inital date was canceled when scientists found out heavy winds would come. Also the whole thing might've went completely wrong
