You definitely need better Generals to accomplish that mission. I had Govorov, Vatutin, Badoglio and Guderian. With them I rushed forward to the cities and conquered them to get more resources. After that I killed the remaining enemies. :-)

Such a shame I can't use my level 3 Ion Cannon in Challenges, otherwise I would have won instantly

I let my troops fight around the north of New Delhi to lure all the enemies to move up. This make my reinforcement from Lhasa come to the battle field fast and also make the enemy's rear open. I send a few paratroopers with infantry general assigned to kill the dude in Kolkata.
