you got to be kidding right? Do you even have Sophia? Sophia is the best, stop comparing her with Drummond who is tier 2 general. If she doesn't deserve a slot, who is going to clear all the forts? I have Lan so why shouldn't I have the easiest achievable princess of all: Sophia. Fortresses are not relevant if you want to get higher princesses, you just build some grenadiers in surrounding cities, you need your generals to steamroll through the map and not being busy cleaning fortresses. If I am playing I care more about areas I need to steamroll before it is too late then one lonely fortress. And yes, of course, that fortress can delay you so you do send troops to it to get it down but not an entire general. I have had Sophia fully upgraded and yes she is awesome on fortresses but she lacks other qualities. |

why did you say she was not the best fort cracker? Getting grenadiers will waste resources, it can be better spent getting light and heavy artillery or heavy cav to help kill enemy soldiers.
If Sophia isn't worth a slot, who would you have if you only had 6 slots to fill?

Guys, just assume this from me. She is not the best, and even if she is the best fortress demolisher: you will need more to be worth a general slot in your HQ. Any person w/ 5 artillery stars is a good artillery general, just look at napoleon in base game. Sophia is a great fort killer and good enough against everything else too, besides who could deny the usability of a FREE fort killing general? |

you still didn't say who would be in your general line up if you had 6 slots. The only other general that can do sophia's job is Murat.

As a true Salazar I do not care about general concensus. A fact is that for each person generals are more preferably than others, their are no 'bests'. I will post my own HQ soon but now I am in the middle of a testweek, I should actually be learning languages by now and screaming German words while I am learning them. |

But she is the best, it's not an opinion, she deals the most damage, how can you say drummond is better. The only general you can compare her to is Murat and he still deals less damage than her. The only advantage he has over Sophia is that he can attack again if he finishes off an enemy.

Free does not mean good, I prefer buying a general which is less good at fortresses but better usable in other situation. I will not claim my main arty general is the best (Drummond) , but I do claim he is good (and well trained since he was my first general). And since I do not want to have 3 arty generals (Isabella is master, artillery gets wings when you put her on the job) I regrouped her. Maybe Sophia is better than Drummond, fine, but she is not an all-around arty, which you will need to rush conquests and campaigns. |
