Are infantry generals worth getting?

I haven't been using any generals on my infantry units in conquest and was wondering if I was missing something in my strategy.

If they are worth getting, then what are the mid and late game ones you'd recommend?

I have all the medal wonders so I could definitely save up for the high ones.

I recommend Mannerheim if you want survivability and Vasilevsky if you want output.
