One thing I like and don't like about GoG and GoG Pacific at the same time is the fact that every upgrade should be like a precision strike of a samurai sword... Upgrades are so expensive that we can't simply afford to do good upgrades... Only best upgrades are vital. When I completed GoG Pacific last time my Headquarter looked like this
Finances and our Commander are top priority and Artillery helps greatly to defeat tanks. So, there are two questions, actually.
1.Is upgrading airfields useful?
Well, of course it is, as any other upgrade.
2.Is it necessary to complete the game or is it game changing?
I don't think so, because without upgraded Commander and financial support we simply will stuck rather sooner than later...
It is a problem of priorities in the first place...
