I don't understand what makes people want Yamashita so much. I understand he has 5 star movement, but for his output, that isn't that great. He has no guerilla or environment-enhanced fighting skills. Frankly, you might as well buy Mannerheim or Vasilevsky who both have better output. The pair is also 1000 medals cheaper than Yamashita. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Yamashita isn't worth it.

Want him for movement, that's the reason. Infantry isn't expected to destroy bunch of enemies from the start. And comparing him to MacArthur (who also has 4 stars inf and 5 stars movement) he's better.

Good question. I like him, why?
Infantry already deals little output. Yes, valivesky is better but he cant beat mediocre tank generals.
And what if you cant beat them on output? You want to beat them on another front, movement. And yamashita has it.
He can be actuve at each front at the sane time. His movenent is insane. He isnt at ine place only but at 100 places at the same time.
This makes him especially handy for aliens, moving to empty cities and take it ones destroyed. He is your movy man. And yes, his output may not be the best. But his movement simply rocks

Question: If we like Yamashita's movement soooooo much, what about raising Peng D.H. or Malinovsky to general? A little cheaper price and similar power.

Movement of motorized infantry is 12 3* you get 15, 5* 17. But inf doesnt have terrain disadvantages for moving. So the last 2 movement stars dont matter, but yamashita also has good skills

I checked those 3 guys in the academies. Vas and Mann doesn't have that much higher output. Yes, they have that fifth star, but their skills are actually weaker than Yam. His skills are really stacked up together and not to mention that with Bayonet, he can give more output than those two with a damaged infantry unit below 50% of total health, unit+general.
That would probably make more sense than the extra wasted movement on MI (commando would be a different story).

Desophaeus Vasilevsky has 3*Guerrilla and 2*Plain Fighting, that's about 3*Bayonet Charge all the time.
