You can't stop spammers. They can stop themselves when they realize that time is too valuable to waste irritating people. Some spammers fail to even do that.

saltin, is it possible to set a time delay for guests between posts? There can be an apology and an explanation that some people have abused the privilege as a guest to post in this forum so this is an unfortunate requirement that we have to set upon this forum, here's a $5 coupon for sushi.

Currently there isn't a limiting timed feature for this version of proboards.It's possible the next version might be able to incorporate it.
Thankfully pure spam by guests is not all that common on our site but yeah it does happen on occasion.

Most devs wont accept to take on new projects atm,they wont even fix the old stuff because the next new forum version is not far off and they dont want to have to recode everything.
