Everyone knows we have school coming up soon in the next month (or Sept for some) and it usually involves some shopping for school supplies like pencils, binders, and papers, etc ...
I wanted to remind you guys about a weekend every year is set aside specifically for this purpose in terms of no sales tax. Each state will have their own scheduled weekend, so you'll have to check for when it happens in your state (or even in a neighboring state if you live close enough to shop there).
Search "tax free weekend 2016 (your state name here)"
Note: it doesn't applies to some things like food. It will be still with normal taxes when you buy food, but many things will be tax-exempt so it means that you save money on supplies (plus it's usually when "back-to-school" sales are happening too).
I believe the state of Florida is having their weekend on Aug 5-7.

Hey my buddies at the white house cut out the taxes but double the prices In that case, I would rather to keep the taxes. They're 6.75% to 7% for the majority of the states. The highest is 10, nothing close to being double of the item prices. Not only the taxes can be temporarily waived, the item prices are often cut maybe 30 or 50% during the "back-to-school" sales. Sometimes electronic items do have a sale (including laptops!). The sales all depends on which store amd what state you are shopping in.
