The Light Bringer, the latvian flag is the second oldest (still used) flag in the world! Comming from 1280, the number 3 (nl) came in almost 3 centuries later than yours in 1572.

The Danish one from 1208 This is a bit confusing...our flag (The U.S one) was adopted in 1776 and yet it says the U.K's flag is older than ours, and same with France. Unless the Wiki is wrong and it was first adopted/used prior than 1801, which it very well could be. Also, I like the difference between the different flags. Only two were kept since the Medieval Ages, one was kept during the 1500's, and only until after the French Revolution (When many modern states began to be created, especially following the Napoleonic Wars) are flags starting to be retained. Except Nepal, but when it comes to flags, they're always the exception

And the US had Hawaii as a state in 1960.

Its about current used flags. The us flag use to have 13, than 15, 48 etc. In 1960 they adopted their current flag, with 50stars. Making the us flag as old as 1960

Ivan Kolev, i found it on other sites to compare. And basically every site said something else. The austrian flag first showed up in 1208, the scottish flag (i guess here you find the british only) originates from 805.. so its pretty debatable who was first..

I always thought that the grand union flag was the british flag for their colony... dumb me Nah, it's cool. It's not that different than the actual colonial flag. .org/image/iunhq9ir3/] [/url] I guess when we made the Grand Union Flag, it was our transition from this one to our current one (Minus the number of stars, ofc, and thus the design of the stars) Fun Fact: We originally also added another stripe to the flag whenever a new state was added, but eventually the flag got so cluttered that we decided to leave it at 13 stripes to represent the original 13 colonies.

And I was sure it was called the continental colours, but whatever. Still, nothing beats the EU4 rebel flag! Fleg

We have pretty good legend of how it was made. So there was war between order and tribes, one of the chiefs got a deadly wound and he was retrieved from battle on white sheet and after that he bleed out and his son took the sheet and it was blood red on sides and white in the middle where he had lied, so he took it and put it on spear, and rided back to the battlefield, so tribesmen saw the flag and fought fearlessly and won the battle, this flag became national flag.
