Since no one has come up with a question here is mine: What were the top 5 largest empire/nation is history? I pick 5 because there are a number and I didn't want to make it to easy as there are a number of clear-ish choices. I'll also only accept ONE incarnation/form of a nation even if they have taken numerous forms (there is a certain one I'm thinking about here)

Those two are sorta different forms of that nation. I would definitely pick the Romans among the top 5. But in sheer total square miles... the British Empire! Mongolian horde, another pick. 3 down, 2 to go. Hmm, the Ottomans can be considered fairly huge and populatious if you measure by the largest extent (1683 AD). China, another population-heavy empire. Thinking about Japan (it DID once covered roughly 1/7 of the globe but it's mostly just Pacific water and dots of sand).
