we are allowed to upgrade stars right Да. Anything but buying Generals and IAP. Also, you can't do missions until you finished (def: end of all campaigns, finished all conquests), so no +3 medal wonder. got it tis may take some time

The main reason to buy generals is that they are just way cheaper. Rebuilding a general costs a lot of medals, way more than buying generals

So I got back into wc3 after a long break and I find the starting generals you get at hq to be more useful than those you can buy For example: 1. You get three of them for free 2. You can edit skills and ranks to create the perfect killing machine 3. Buying good generals costs too much and the cheap ones are awful in almost every way 4. You can't upgrade bought generals in any way meaning you need to buy the best for SEVERAL THOUSAND MEDALS each So all in all wether you agree or not I wanted to put this out to show people that there isn't just once way to get gr8 generals I understand your thinking progress but as you can see most are against it.. Moreover, all advices given on this forum by our mastermind Manstein does not include yours... I think the first question will be your final goal (i asume: finish all allien campaigns 3star gold and all mission?). If this is your goal then you need to know what your final minimal generals are needed to achieve this final goal (besides most wounders build and tech upgrades). I did not finish it (almost there now) but as I may believe Manstein you need govorov (marshal), pathon (marshal), and guderian (marshal) beside 2 maxed artill and 1 tank general to finish the game.. As you can see in the posts of netherfreek it costs a lot of medals to upgrade them full, Lets presume you makeyou medal wounders asap without spending medals.. Only time will be a variable since you have infin medals if you are patient. To be quicker its is easy to see that you 1st buy the 3 cheap generals since they are immediatly strond and handy, they canbe used todo yellow missiona and necassry red and purple star mission.. With these 3 strong generals in hand you can steadibly upgrade your 1-eye dudes So to achievefinal goal without loosing even more time it is adviced to get all medalwounders, the3 generals and be patient.. Gd luck

I dont upgrade eyed cover generals. The reason is upgrading your eyed cover generals to end game level is gonna take too much medals. Sure you can't upgrade generals you buy form shop on their skills but they are already good that I dont mind they need upgrade

Let's make a calculation. For the beginning, let's say we are building an arty dude. What about 3*arty/move+2*AB/Explosive/PF+L Colonel? Sounds great! Much better than Badoglio! Then let's see how much is it. 350+340+310+240+290+720=2250. Well, seems like we can already buy Govorov and raise him to colonel with that.
How about tank? Making a solid tank is more expensive than a solid arty, because you need Blitzkrieg.

Singlemalt, Patton could be ignored, and use Valutin instead long as you do have Guderian plus the no-eye tank crmdr later in the endgame. Arty is a lot more important than tank in the 1975 conquests. But yeah... doing all that playing without Badoglio, Govorov, or Guderian, bleeh.

Since i have manstein and dont need a 3th tank anyways (manstein can if needed) i dont make a tank guy.. Therefore and since he was such a great important general i took him. I dont like vatutin tbh

But do we usually have super tank for them? Who's faster on heavy tank? And who has better survivalability?

To state another argument, look what happens if you rebuild generals
Guderian 170 health - 1420 5 tank - 2300 2 air - 60 3 inf - 240 4 mov - 1190 4 leader - 1120 4 plain - 1330 3 tide - 670 2 def - 190 4 blitz - 1080 Total - 9600 Saving of 66%
Göring 280 health - 3370 5 air - 1440 2 navy - 50 2 mov - 120 1 bay - 80 4 ind - 660 3 ec - 380 3 sup - 1040 Total - 7140 Saving of 70%
Badoglio 170 lives - 1420 4 art - 1350 2 mov - 120 2 expl - 240 2 bar - 310 4 leader - 1120 Total - 4560 Saving of 74%
