1939 Axis - Start Small (Countries this applies to the most = Germany, Japan, Bulgaria, and Spain.) Focus on taking out as many countries as possible. There is a lot of tiny ally nations, so take as many out as you can. The tiny countries's capitals will produce a lot of gold, and you no longer have to fight their military.
1939 Allies - Money Consumer (Countries that apply best to this include nearly every Ally country except for the US) Because 1939 is the height of Axis generals, you need to produce as many units as possible to soak damage. An air general will be your best friend. If you're playing as a small nation, keep generals away from your capital. Also don't be afraid to sacrifice your generals in order to protect your capital. Collect as many cities as possible to produce money for your units, but don't leave your capital behind (if you're a small country that is).
1943 Axis - City Stealer (This applies best to Germany and Japan) This strategy is similar to Start Small except that you can forget small nations for a while. The important thing is that you focus on taking as many cities away from big nations. Why? Because in the 1943 conquest, every big nation produces loads of generals. Try and capture cities before they have the chance.
1943 Allies - City Stealer (Applies best to the USSR, the UK, and China.) see 1943 Axis strategy. Exception: America - see 1950 WTO strategy.
1950 WTO - Nuke 'em All(Applies best to the USSR, the PRC, Iran, and Bulgaria). Produce as many nukes as possible and destroy money producing cities with them. If it is possible to destroy the nation with nukes, I definitely recommend. If you are playing as a 1 or 2 star country, acquire a nuclear facility as quickly as possible.
1950 NATO - Tank You(Applies best to the US, Sweden, Greece, Germany[for 1960] Turkey, and any close to WTO nuclear facility). Start by capturing any WTO nuclear facilities. Now this is the split part:
NATO countries closer to China - Follow Nuke 'em All strategy (see 1950 WTO).
NATO countries closer to the USSR - take care of as many WTO cities as you can. Sacrificing your generals in order to retrieve cities has become extremely relevant. Once you control Moscow and Ankara (need to have these cities), produce as many super tanks as possible and send them to China. At the same time, continue producing nukes for when you conquer a level 3 Chinese airport.
1960 WTO - Just follow the same strategy as 1950.
1960 NATO - 1950 strategy is still relevant.
1975 Union - There isn't a better way to explain it then the way kanue does: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/437/kick-alien-arse
