Anybody know the number next to the chevrons? The one below your general/commander? tells how many kills you've done as your general. Does it do anything other than show how bad*** I am? |

If I wasn't mistaken, I observed an increase in attack power the more medals you have in that slot... I think I thought we're discussing the "kills made by the general selected" thing, I guess I'm wrong. |

It's related to the bottom left star slot below the navy one 100 kills = 1 star, 500 kills I think will earn 2 stars oh you mean that sign? I've got to know about it today because of you, I myself didn't knew much about it till now. |

A little refresher please? well what I did was I landed South of the big city up North (names completely forgotten, sorry) and then slowly started taking the two small cities over there, then sent ¾ my tanks to the South with my general while the rest defended from the north, then reinforced the defenders and blitzed up north. |

On Burma i lured guys from the west to enter into my zone, "deadly ground" , then on 2nd round completely encircled their tank southwest, one unit bought a good bunker, that is for our main character mainly, one by one encircled and down, plenty of medals, then bit high and another bunker close to Araki, he'll die anyway, but Chinese Army will get massive punches, when you count how far they can move, and who they want to attack it's much easier, so for beginners and perfectionists hexes mandatory, first few games to see how the machine takes their targets and which what troops.
This is how truly strategists learned how to win.
I bought Holt after finishing Burma,
p.s. to get the city it is good to have three units close, and be sure that in next turn you will secure it by some unit.
When enemy wants to get to important place i let him, then encircle completly, close to it usually bunker to fall down and wait for the result.

When enemy wants to get to important place i let him, then encircle completly, close to it usually bunker to fall down and wait for the result. i dont know if you were serious about strategist learning that way or kidding. but i always had an inner conflict: -1 loving / respecting the missions i need several tries for. to learn more about whats ahead etc essentially dispersing/ cheating the fog of war of its power. a win feals awesome bc it was hard. -2 winning a mission on first try perfectly. (but maybe too easily) as i know that 1 is not possible in war. commander and his men just died terribly...several times. no learning from mistakes bc he is dead or no longer has the men to enact what he learned from the mistakes. in that sense 2 is the real victory. but its a damn game and too easy is boring. at the same time what is fun about memorizing AI movement anyway? lol. must be the middle ground somewhere. |

this is only a method, not remedy for whole game, I play for fun, not to get perfect results.
Some hints, when mission is really hard and you cannot step forward could be useful.
In real if you ie. like Liu Ji in Warring States movie, guys followed how oponent act, where he can risk or not, what are his goals, how good is his army, (best as a water, every single soldier listens, so the tactics are perfectly done), then mostly he is testing him few times to make sure it works, then he risks lives of many to get the result.
Machine also is smart. especially, that there are many turn based ET games with many aspects, that work better or worse.
That s it.
Your highlights are good.
Commander tries on the battles of old, then he tries to fit to the situation.
Mostly they played game of Go.
Think that in the world we have only 2 colours , this is fun.
I suggest also Red Cliff Movie and for the Holy Guiguzi
