Hi, I'm Scott and I just signed up hoping to get some answers to the many questions I have. First is, what OS is this game geared for? I got my version from the Windows Store which says it's for Windows. I ask this because right from the start the game crashes constantly. Although not with all scenarios, 1775 & 1812 in conquest seem to be the most stable (although 1812 has crashed only once) and can be completed (at least using the countries I've tried,US,BR,FR). but,the others are a crap shoot. I have completed all but 1806 but, only using certain countries.1815 with FR a few times,1798 with HRE a few times,1809 with FR a couple times. This is what happens most of the time before a crash,the screen starts to flicker and will either crash then or may go a few more rounds. It also seems to do this at a different round count for each map(?) with 1806 being the worse at about round 30 to 35 with 1798,1809 & 1815 anytime after round 40. I've tried reloading the game 4 times ,defraged the game folder and even deleting all saved games all to no avail. I also tried contacting Easy Tech "customer service" and got no reply until I sent a very terse e-mail but got no reply to my reply. They're about as useful as you know what's on a bull and their forum isn't any better. It's a good game and has a lot going for it,I'd really like to be able to play with no issues though. Hiya scottso, European war 4 is listed in the window store as a window 10 game. Most of the rating are at 5 stars but few bad reviews due to technical glitches,some complained that it ran fine till they upgraded to win10. Did you ever have the same issue with any other game? can you disable everything non essential in the background when playing? (Like anti virus,chat apps ect..),can you read temperature in your pc to check if anything overheating? (Video card,cpu,north bridge ect..) Have you tested your ram for defects? When the game crashes is there anything else happening at same time? Any errors from window? I haven't run the game in anything but android so I cant be of much help,other than general checks. And yes Easytech unfortunately completely ignores their western market,they only answer to and support the chinese market. They often dont even bother making major annoncements in the official Easytech English forums,sometimes I'll go there and do it myself for them(same with other fans)! |

What you are having (the screen issue) is called stuttering. I too checked ew4 yesterday on my pc (just upgraded to windows 10) and it I can't even download it!!?? (It can run minecraft but not ew4, well that is another case). Easytech guys never respond to anyone. Check your graphics card and the stuff saltin wrote  |

Guess I should have added a few things in my 1st post... EW4 is the only game I've had problems with,I played WC2 until all was accomplished and it started to get boring. I also play Warbirds which is a flight simulator and uses way more resources than EW4 ever will and have never had issues on my end. I did think it was a bit slow so I got a program recommended in thier forum called Razer Cortex which seems to help it along with an older FS I use Fighter Ace 1941 (NLA). I tried to add EW4 but Razer doesn't recognise it,which I surmise it because of the folders location(?) It's in user/apps/packages along with the others I got from the Windows store.
Anyway I went with saltin's suggestions and started looking into things. I didn't think temperature was an issue but,I added SpeedFan to monitor the temps and they seem normal when running the game. I have always kept the fan grilles clean plus I have the laptop on a table tray with blocks to elevate the back about 3 inches so theres good air flow.
I've done a lot of cleaning,defraging,updating drivers and repairing files etc. after doing hours of searching for solutions. I also found another program to try,"Advanced SystemCare8" which has a gaming booster to shut down many backround things and is not game specific like Razer. So far it seems to be working,I started an 1806 conquest (as FR) and have passed round 50 which I never reached with 1806 before. Hopefully I can make it to the end,then I'll do more tests before "jumping for joy" lol.
I'll post more after further testing since I know I'm not alone with the crashing issue.

Yah if you can do dogfights/flight combat simulation you should be able to run EW4 This sure look like the pc version of ew4 just isn't playing <pun intended> well with anything running in the background. But at least you are making some progress now and know what you are dealing with. Another possible option is to simply run the android version on ew4 on your pc via an emulator like Bluestacks.Not all android games can be run that way but many can. |

Thought I'd update a bit... Still having problems but I was able to complete 1806 using Prussia of all things! HRE 1798 is working good,picked up Sofia last week,what a demon she is on forts,I use her stricktly with siege artilery  Also won Fatimah lastnight,so there has been progress. What are her attributes? Anyway,after my last post I started trying different things,I found the exc. folder in the Task Manager and started trying various settings with the compatability manager. Thought it helped but then the crashing BS started again,I was so PO'd I sent ET another e mail. Next I went into the program folder and copied my HQ save then did a fifth reinstall. Went to the folder,deleted the HQ save and put mine in so nothing I've gained was lost. Thought you might like to see the e mail I sent and the reply I got from them. WHEN ARE YOU IDIOTS GOING TO FIX THIS GAME SO IT WORKS ON WINDOWS 8 UP WITHOUT IT CONSTANTLY CRASHING??? IT CAN'T BE THAT HARD!! yOU HAVE A GOOD GAME AND BAD RECORD FOR FIXING THINGS,THAT IS BAD BUSINESS!!! IF YOU WANT PLAYERS TO BUY ITEMS AND MAKE MONEY THEN FIX THE DAMNED GAME!!! Right now I have Bubna who's OK and is leveling nicely using 2 armored cars but I'd like to get a better one soon. |

Fatimah is an economic general. She has the skills that let her upgrade places for less, and increase income of areas that she is in. She can also be used as a cavalry general if you don't already have one. I agree Sophia is a demon to forts. I have her at rank 125 with potent powder and horse artillery. So much damage... What generals do you have? Then I can tell you what to do with Fatimah

Oh Bubna is pretty bad. Fatimah would probably be better than him but some second tier cavalry generals are better than her in that aspect.

Aha I am surprised they answered ! Good so a fix is on the way then! If you dont want to spend money or grind for a long time you can try to win Lan princess,she is a very decent cav general. Best way to do this is 1775 USA conquest,use lots of militia and light cavalry since these units have bonus damage for the USA. Also you can "cheese" an easy victory by starving the British of food first before full blown assault on them.I think this cheap tactic still works There is a thread with stats on all princess out there: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/9/complete-princess-list-stats |

OK,here's my Generals...    Since I only have 4 spaces I decided to leave one open until I find the "right one" for it. In the mean time I figured it could be used to buy a better general and regroup either Bubna or Carteaux into it and so on. I got Art of War the other day to speed up leveling a bit and plan on rotating it into each as I go. That put a dent in my medal supply but it was only the 2nd time I had the chance to get it so I went for it. The way the academy works I'm hesitant on changing pages since you can't go back (which is really stupid),since it takes awhile before you can look again. That's why I took Bubna & Carteaux,they were the best available at the time and better than none at all. Actually they're not bad with the items I use for them and have gotten stronger. Bubna with the two armored cars hits pretty hard and the armor suit helps his defence nicely. I've been considering replacing him though with Dumouriez for awhile since he's a 4 star cav. trainer.  With the right items I figure he can do a decent job until I find better and I'm sure he'll hit harder than Bubna. The way I see it, I need something stronger to advance in the campaigns and get higher scores. An arty gen. is next,just not sure which to go for yet. I copied the table that was posted on them to study before deciding. I'm in no big hurry to advance really because what's there to do after that? I did that with WC2 and it got boring with no goals to shoot for. I enjoy the game too much to go fast and hopfully ET will fix the crashing issue,then I'll be a happy camper. I might even go for more general spots then. kanue...Glad you liked my e mail,that one is mild compared to what I sent them back in January. I can't even post that one! They replied to that one too much to my surprise but the nice ones were all ignored it seems? |

If you still got some near 515 medals then grab duomoriez, he'll do good, but if you can get to near 900 or more then golytsin is the best cavalry general to get via medals.

Another question... I read that when you buy the two locked general slots more open,how many more? All ten or just the two?

When you regroup a general with trainer skill to another, the target general will have additional 1 star rating based on the type of trainer skill. For example, Dumouriez has Cavalry Trainer skill. If you regroup him to Babna who originally has 3 stars in cavalry. Babna will then have 4 stars in cavalry and Dumouriez will disappear. On contrary, if you do the other way around by regrouping Babna to Dumouriez, Dumouriez will still have 4 stars in cavalry with some of rank exerience from Babna transferred to him and Babna will disappear. Regarding 2 locked general slot, you can unlock 6 more slots after you unlock the first two. That allows you have total 12 general slots. However, the maximum number of generals you can use in one campaign mission is 6. |
