Hitler influenced the start of WWII greatly. Adolf H. Did start the war, but the one that essentially won it was the USSR, led by one Iosef Stalin (the USA sped up the war, especially with Pacific, but the point when I believe that the war was tilting towards allies was after Leningrad, Stalingrad, and Moscow). I vote for them.

Without FDR's policies of Lend-Lease and the Pan-American security zone, the Japanese probably would not have aimed against the U.S.

Definitely Hitler and Stalin. Hitler: Started WW2 which had a great impact on life back then and shaped life as it is now. The war led to the deaths of millions, changes in Millitary tactics, technological and scientific advancements, the development of nuclear bombs which ironically make the world safer by deterring the world for major conflicts, the balance of power was changed and without WW2 there would be no EU, likely no space exploration as it was Nazi scientists that pioneered both the American and Soviet space programs. Without WW2, America would not be the most powerful country in the world and the British Empire might well still exist. The war directly led to the Cold War which also had its own influences. Stalin: Killied millions of people, expanded the Soviet Unions power leading to the Cold War which as stated above influenced life drastically. There are plenty of other reasons but I dont have time to write more. Also Tito, you said only one person from each country but there are two British people and two French people.

If Hitler is the most influential for WW2, and WW1 is the most influential for Hitler, then WW1 is the most influential for WW2, which it is.
I chose Hitler and Stalin,, for similar reasons and because they are more (in)famous than others when talking about WW2.
