You can fix their stars easily. The one we are talking about is skill. Stars can be fixed. Useless skills cannot.

The difference between Lasalle and Golitsyn is Mobility (has no effect, as per the damage formula) and Sailor (useless). the difference between Moreau and Isabela is Explosive (good) vs Geography (better) The difference between Suvorov and Victoria is Formation (decent) and Infantry Tactics (no effect) vs Assault Art (great!) and Defense Art (also great)

Here's a question for you while we're talking about skills - when Assault Art triggers, does it mimic or include the effect of Snare Drum (i.e. ignores General's health loss)? Of course Victoria (for example) doesn't need the Snare Drum when she's fighting as an infantry general because she has Mass Fire, but for others it would seem a pertinent question. "The fault, dear Robert Walpole, lies not in our stars but in our skills." You buy trainers and items for non-five-star generals who have at least two skills (and preferably more) directed to a particular specialty, recognising that things like assault and defence arts and geography have universal application.

Nope, it just deals maximum damage of the current health. Assault art at 1/2 hp obviously lower than full HP

Assault and Defense Art are a PAIN to me. They trigger when the enemy is in low health, and Defense Art will trigger but seldom.

Hmm. It is a valid point that Moreau is no better than Isabela, while costing actual money to purchase. I have not compared their damage output, but I am not sure if I would agree that every art skill Plus Explosive is weaker than plus geography. Explosive gives a damage increase, while geography can be replaced by War-horse. In fact, one can simply switch every time one moves, then put their fighting item back in the slot. Thus, I love geography but explosive might have the edge. However, in defending his "weak rating" my forum friend Yi Sun Sin says he can be replaced by scharnhorst. I disagree. Since artillery trainer is meaningless in a end-game general, Scharnhorst only has half of the artillery skills, though to be fair the two skills Moreau adds includes the worst. Unless one can prove Scarnhorst hits as hard, I really doubt Moreau can be replaced by him.

Theoretically, Moreau deals 3 average damage per attack more than Scharnhorst

I'm pretty sure its an art skill. Perhaps I was meant to say Arty instead? I already noted that Ballistics is the worst arty skill. I suppose if its only 3 damage Scarnhorst can replace Moreau, though Scarnhorst only has 2 thirds as many skills that actually do something, so from an uneducated view Moreau is the clear winner. I guess you could also use the "he's free" argument, but since we already counted Isabela, I think it is a somewhat weak argument. Weaker anyway, I'm certainly not paying for him.

"Every art skill plus Explosive" Those were your words. They imply that explosive is not a part of "every art skill" and thus not an art skill.

I was comparing Moreau (every skill) with Isabela, which is plus geography, but missing the 2nd/3rd best artillery skill. One has every, and the other has almost every artillery skill, just explosive is in contention. I apologize. I could edit it, but I doubt anybody cares anyway. Up to you.

Isabela=Moreau with War Horse and Artillery Horse:p But Isabela can hold 2 Horse Artilllery. Further, Isabela doesn't cost real money

Sacken
Infantry: *** Cavalry: * Artillery: * Fort: ** Move: ** War Expert Bugle 640
I guess we found that Tier-2 Barclay clone. Tier-2 infantry has many better goods. Not recommended C General
