I think so: Lannes is ok because hybrid, Suvorov not

Suvorov is just a pure infantry general which really isn't that important as you get Victoria for free as an inf/navy hybrid. Plus infantry is the worst out of the three land troop categories you have (infantry, cavalry, artillery)

I think so: Lannes is ok because hybrid, Suvorov not In fact, Suvorov isn't good, but Lannes is strong also in cavalry and artillery

What are you talking about? Suvurov is the best infantry general in the game. He is much better than lannes. Lannes is not that good, the only good skill he has is mass fire and assault art.
If you put lannes on infantry, the skill geography is wasted because all infantry have geography and leadership isn't useful for infantry. If you put him on cav. mass fire is wasted, so he will need a snare drum. He is useless on artillery, because mass fire is wasted, leadership is not useful. Geography helps but you should have war horse anyway.
He is only decent in infantry, but there are much better inf generals like suvurov, victoria, dobeln.

If you don't s/l, you shouldn't get lannes. If you are not going for princesses and you will spend money on generals and 2 slots, the best lineup would be suvurov, Lassale, Murat, Nelson, Moreau, Davout/poniatowski.

If you aren't a s/l player Lannes isn't recommended. I'm a s/l player and for me he's very good. Suvorov is slightly better in infantry, but Lannes is also good in cavalry

He is a weak hybrid that's it. He isn't strong on infantry, cav or artillery. If you have 6 slots, you might want a hybrid. The best one is poniatowski, not lannes.

They've leadership, geography and assault art in common. Lannes has mass fire, Poniatowski has fireproof, so Lannes is oriented in inf and Poniatowski in navy. Infantry is better than navy, so Lannes is better than Poniatowski

Navy is better than infantry, because of sns.

IMO you never need to buy any navy general because of Kate (and Victoria), except maybe Nelson. Leadership is actually a pretty good artillery as it allows the art general to fight on the front line without worry to morale drops from encirclement or cavalry. Suvorov is the best infantry general in the game, Victoria's debatably better depending on the player's use of s/l. But infantry is so much weaker than cavalry or artillery, making a infantry general who only can command infantry less useful. Cavalry can attack after defeating an opponent and artillery has range. Infantry just has (basically) geography. And because you get Victoria for free as one of the best infantry generals, and a very solid navy general, Suvorov shouldn't really be bought. Honestly, I think that Davout is the best hybrid- Geography plus either Surprise + Assault Art or Explosive + Assault Art. Torvesta, Lasalle only has two good cavalry skills (mobility doesn't really do anything). Compare him to Lan, the best general in the game, who has strike and surprise, plus 5 training stars (only thing you can't regroup) or even a regrouped Berthier (if you have that many IAP's I'm gonna assume you can regroup Berthier), who has surprise, strike, and geography. I'm quite surprised Lan wasn't in your 6 gen lineup. Murat without s/l leaves him with just surprise, spy, and war master. Sulkowski or Ney (I forget which, haven't played that much EW4 lately) has surprise and spy. Nelson is good, though not the best navy general (which is Kate), and not the best overall art general. There have been a lot of discussions about Victoria vs Moreau so I won't go into detail, but I believe Isabella's better.

That lineup was for people who don't want to go for princesses. I did mention that in my post.

Hmm i don't know. I don't know much about them. I just know Lasalle has 5 cav and movement stars.
