I just realized that the canaries are also in the mediterranean. No they aren't, they're off the coast of West Africa in the Atlantic.

I just realized that the canaries are also in the mediterranean. Umm, they're not. They're in the Atlantic, near Spain

I didn't vote btw, and I'm not involved anyway.
Since this is a close call and everything, why don't people bring up the reasoning for which location is better and if there's a full list of pros and cons, then the choice might become clearer (or less muddy anyway)?

For Canarias: 1. It fits with Jean-Luc Picard's timeline. 2. It fits with my pre-1600 timeline. For Mediterranean: 1. It almost fits both timelines. 2. It was originally used.

I didn't vote, but I personally think the Canaries would be a better fit. As per Quintus Fabius 's reasoning: -Mediterranean reason #2 is irrelevant, so what if it was used before? That leaves us with a location that fits both timelines (the Canaries) and one that almost fits them (the Mediterranean). For me, the Canaries win. I still accept the Mediterranean though. I however would like to see better reasoning for it, one that drove 6 people to vote.

One could explain the Hapsburg occupation as a Spanish Hapsburg occupation.

One could explain the Hapsburg occupation as a Spanish Hapsburg occupation. Indeed. I never specified, so it can be either

I think the canaries are too far away from anything to be important. I think the Mediteranian fits better with nearly all aspects of everyone's stories and it adds importance to our little country. No one would really care if we were in the Canaries.
