Think about it this way: your AI china will try and get the Shenyang city whatever happens and it will mean they are occupied for a large proportion of the short game (8 turns) doing something pointless, meaning they barely reach peking. If you focus on getting Shenyang as well, then it will take much shorter time for Shenyang to be taken, and the powerful generals will go off-course to your original lv1 city which is uselses anyway, then AI china will go straight for the city you are meant to get, peking. You should be able to then use your leftover forces and buy a tank or something. Put generals on commandos.

This one is so hard for me, Zhang ZZ always rushes in and gets killed. Taking the city in timely manner is no problem, but how do I keep him alive???

This challenge requires generals that deal good damage on infantry (I always employ Guderian before doing this mission), and you play a firepower support role here. Don't quite remember how I beat it since it was too long ago. The idea was to get a artillery/tank general from Shenyang and crack Peking before Zhang Z dies. With a tank or FA you should be able to become the main firepower. |
