What time period is this again? If it's WW1 onward I think Erich Maria Remarque would be good. All Quiet on the Western Front is one of the most powerful and moving books I have ever read. Early 1800's: Edgar Allan Poe Late 1800's: Mark Twain Early 1900's: Erich Maria Remarque Mid 1900's: John Steinbeck Personal list My list Mid 1800's: Nathaniel Hawthorne Late 1800's: Robert Louis Stevenson Early 1900's: Erich Maria Remarque Mid 1900's: John Steinbeck

Really the only one being "Masque of the Red Death"

So we have decided, but Want do you want me to start with a war story writer or odd and childish song writer "WAR! WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?!" A bloody good story. So yeah, I choose war. Yes, there are two war story authors that are against the war, one lost all his "good " times and then his mother died. In the other one he lost a bunch of his friends. The second one is true
