Adapted from NS.
"A very simple game: post a place name with the last letter of the previous." -- San Lumen, The OP of the NS Geography Game Try to use the most common trasliteration in English, e.g. Kiev instead of Kyiv, Guangzhou instead of Canton And historical places use their modern name. If you wish, tell a bit about the place you write. I'll start.
Staronizhestebliyevskaya (It's a place in Russia, and one of the longest placenames in the world)
Addendum 1: Please use
/skip for non-game stuff, or just put your non-game words after the game part.

The town came to worldwide attention in 1945 when the Yalta Conference between the "Big Three" powers - the Soviet Union, the United States and the United Kingdom - was held at the Livadia Palace.

Karachi. Been around since Alexander the Great. Karachi starts with a K, not a L. The previous place ends with a L, so you're supposed to post a place that starts with that letter.

Ulster. I believe it's a city in Ireland. A province, but acceptable as I said placenames. Ravenna. A historical city in NE Italy, it used to be the capital of the Western Roman empire for a while because of its defensibility (it was situated around a swamp at the time; now the swamps and its port have been filled in), and then the capital of the Ostrogothic Kingdom.
