Darn. This is all to confusing for me. Maybe you can try simplifying the rules? What parts are confusing you? You don't have to concern yourself with the special rules at first. Just focus on the general idea of how the rules work. The rest can be understood in later steps. So which parts?

So we play Dippy/Machiavelli? www.diplom.org/Email/judge/rules.machiavelli.htmlThose rules are way too unforgiving for the new player than mine. While it served as an inspiration for some features here, I don't think it's any simpler than the TWs.

lol, I will read the rules later when i'm not busy. I hate math. hope the dice works like in the one thread vaguely described.
Anyway, can one win through military power alone, without amassing cardinals and installing a pope? The Caliph is coming!
always thought it was silly to destroy the byzantine empire and then call yourself the inheritor of rome. You just killed rome silly!

I'm taking an exam very soonly and it's a huge and time-consuming one. So don't expect me to be online until tonight.
I will answer any further questions and also complete the posts. I still think about re-balancing the numbers for like 20th time... lol As for competing for Papal Control... you don't have to if you don't want to, but it's beneficial to you if the pope is controlled by someone friendly rather than hostile.
Shady deals were pretty common in the 15th and 16th century. Plan accordingly for it to happen among yourselves. *evil grin* Oh btw guys, if you're asking... the TW is likely to start on Nov 18th. Plenty of time to ask questions about anything you wanted to know about.

I've uploaded a cleaned up map with names for the TW14 now! Looks good! I plan to work on the colored map next. It will not have names on it and I will periodically update it (maybe either every year, which is very often, or maybe it's fine to update only if there's a lot of changes like 5 or more?) Okay both maps are up.

Cool. Maps are big enough to see now. Not to increase my potential enemies power, but why is Carinthia unpopulated by the Austrians? It auto-corrected to corinthians lol, guess my Ipad likes the bible.
I hope other people join. Im not an expert, but I doubt we can have medieval italy without Florence and Genoa!
I will send my Byzantine Colonists to take Marseilles from france. Its simple fate. (Don't be offended Napoleon, we all know Im going to be the first defeated)

Carinthia is just an empty space to move around in. Technically it is Austria, but it doesn't provide income and it doesn't have an army there right now.
Ah.. yes, note to everyone, I plan to have everyone starting with a small pile of ducats and a peasant militia in each of their cities. I would definitely like it if we had at least Florence, Genoa, and one person in the Papal States.

I'll take savoy, but this is my first so i may need help. Sure, even a veteran benefits from having some help. This reminds me that soon as I finish up some papers for my science class and then one more class tonight, THEN I will need to write down a sample turn and show the general idea of how to do things. Right now, look through the rules for TW14 (plus some still additional materials left in the brainstorming thread, if you like to) and also the tutorials pinned up in the board. The comabt isn't going to stay the same, I still need to revise it and rework it.
