I think its to add the unit's attack, HP, and Shield Penetration (add damage for alien shield)

When choose upgrade, there is written what it does. Level - that means new bought unit starts at that level, each level reduces received damage by 2, attack is damage and shield penetration means higher damage against aliens.

Yes. Also when you open unit's info, you see written like lv2. Unit can also gain level for making damage (up to 6) and than with each level it regenerates some hp. |
