Welcome to my first guide - but hopefully the first of many! For this guide, you need decent tech and generals for 1950, but nothing too special. The generals at the 300-700 mark should do, as you need them mostly just to get out of the tight spot you start out with. Now before we get into it, a little key for my terrible mapping skills:
Green arrows: Allied Forces
Blue arrows: Defending forces
Blue lines: Defensive line
Red arrows: Path of attack
Red circles: Cities to take along the path of attack
Now that we've done that, let's get into it!
The Democratic Rebellion
Starting off with the ROC, you're in a tricky spot, with North Korea, China, Thailand and eventually Russia greeting you at your doorstep. You need to quickly gain ground in South China, but overextending will be your early doom. So instead, we need to invade HongKong with our Taiwanese forces (along with the help of the US), set up a defensive line guarding our city in Burma - this can be just a few infantry - while helping our allies take Thailand. When Thailand is taken (doesn't have to be you who takes it, as long as Thailand is defeated it's fine), send your attacking forces to reinforce your defensive line in Burma. Meanwhile, China will hopefully be preoccupied with helping North Korea try to push back the invading NATO forces of South Korea, Japan and the USA, rendering its main forces in Korea instead of South China.
The Second Long March
Now with ground in China, we will begin a massive operation to fish our forces out of its entrenchment and turn the tides of the war. Our HongKong forces will take Wuhan, before following the red arrows, taking city by city. Keep in mind that focussing on cities with paratrooper capabilities are a priority, as the PRC is not afraid to send paratroopers behind your units. When you have Shanghai, if need be, send some paratroopers into Korea, hopefully taking out North Korea swiftly before opening a new front with the Chinese. Your Burmese forces will proceed along the west of China, taking the minor cities, before heading into Mongolia. Eventually both armies will have eradicated the Chinese cities, as well as Mongolia, so now it's time to invade Russia. Through producing infantry units at the two marked cities, we can quickly overrun the city of Aimty, while our Korean/ChongKing forces will invade Korborosk. Korborosk is hard to take due to the general there, but try not to spend too much time taking it as you need your units to help in mainland Russia as soon as possible. Just follow the red arrows and you should be fine - this stage of the campaign is the most important one.
Operation Underlord
As Moscow falls, we now need to split our forces once again and attack Russia from behind, pincering it between us and the Western Allied forces. We need to build up our nukes, and use them effectively against our enemies cities. Our north group will need superior air cover, as a close proximity of cities means that the enemy will be coming at us in force. Our south group will need to produce units from the cities it takes immediately, to push into Europe, forcing the Russians to spread their forces.
The Final Push
Now our forces have pushed through Europe, and are now pushing down into Southern Germany and the Balkans. We need to focus on the Balkans, while finishing up the European Theatre, as we will need to assault the Middle East soon. Our infantry from Aimty that are pushing on Tehran is providing a great distraction, while our troops invade the Middle East from Stalingrad and from Istanbul. We need to use our nukes effectively at the start of our push into the Middle East, as when we get into the thick of the fighting, our nukes will be out of range. When the Middle East falls, a dash into Egypt is all that stands in the way of us and victory.
Victory! At last, we've won! I finished this conquest within about 60 turns, but I loitered about a lot with Korborosk, stalling my advance into Europe by about 5 turns. Please, if you have any pointers or suggestions, please tell me - I won't bite! As this is my first guide, any and all feedback is appreciated, thanks.
