Thanks to saltin's medal grinding guide on AC Maginot. But medal grinding is a really boring thing. So we want to make it simple. So here it is, Trafalgar grinding guide. Medal will come out randomly, only when we deal high damages. Therefore, the most efficient way is to let the generals do so. To make a save, all you need to do is move all normal units back, and generals forward surrounding the one with the best attack/defense flag(Nelson borns with a wolf flag). Save here. Then just skip turns all the time. DO NOT SKIP ENEMY TURN OR YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MEDALS!!! DO NOT SKIP ENEMY TURN OR YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MEDALS!!! DO NOT SKIP ENEMY TURN OR YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MEDALS!!! IT'S VERY IMPORTANT SO I HAVE TO WRITE IT THREE TIMES!!! After all your generals are killed, reload the save. Mostly you don't need to look at the screen during the process, just remember to tap on skipping turns. Have fun!

So I tried this last night, with my four generals - Konopka, Dumouriez, Carteaux, Sophia. Naturally, Konopka is the first to die, then Dumouriez because he hasn't had a grinding boost yet and isn't naval; Carteaux lasts a little bit longer, possibly because he's an artillery general and that makes his skills useful here? Sophia lasts the longest - occasionally she outdoes Nelson - but that's because I bought an artillery item for her and I think that's helping her hold out a bit. I was getting between eight and ten medals per reload; is this about right, or should I be expecting more? Never mind; it is effortless and easy to set up again if you mess up. Many thanks, Erich von Manstein.

Nice, easy, and zero setup. *reaches for stamp of approval*

Shouldn't this belong in Training camp? Wonderful guide though, got like 50 medals in less than an hour.

I was doing not much of anything last night and grinding with this, and decided spontaneously to take charge of the battle and see how many more medals I could win.
I won the battle three times, and lifted myself from a three-star to a four-star result. And got awarded bonus medals. Yippee!!
OTOH it's easy to sit the Kindle on my desk and just grind quietly away throughout the day, touching the next-move button when I get a few spare seconds. It builds up.
I usually wait to quit until not only my own generals but also Nelson and sometimes Collingwood are gone.

oh, so this is a more lazy (in a good way) technique than farming in conquests! I prefer increasing my generals health, which unless navy I doubt happens much here, but sounds like a good Idea if you are doing other things. Thus, even if it earns less medals it could be something to consider.

Imperial RomeBall - If it's Nobility you want, there's a thread on farming that in the Chain the Beast scenario. It takes a few turns to set up, but it's just as lazy in that you can arrange things to tap the lower left corner of the screen over and over again and no more thought is required. Otherwise saltin 's 1815 grind is the way to go (especially on platforms that allow the full 999 turns). Either that or set your generals up with some targets that are just about to die and then kill, exit, reload over and over again. Tiresome and boring, but it brings results. Eventually.

Thanks pathdoc, I'll look into chain the beast sometime. I have used Saltin's guide on android and ipad. Least lazy of all of these I imagine, but as far as I know best way to get health rather than just medals or nobility. Made 20+ medals on this guide today, but I haven't done it more than once or twice obviously. Does anyone know the turn limit on iOS? I know the android limit is big, and am currently between 150-200 turns on iPad.

Kindle's limit is 99 turns, d**n it, while Android's is 999. AFAIK Kindle is the last platform to lag behind. I wish there were an update which I could apply without losing my progress!

I find the Chain the Beast nobility farm easiest, as it is within the reach of any general on any infantry unit, and likewise for the rank/medal farming method of saltin or this more recent one based on the Battle of Trafalgar. Too many of the other methods require you to have powered-up princesses, upgrades costly in medals, or upper-tier non-Tavern generals, which the beginning player does not have.

Kanue's advance farm spot, and lugh's nobility farm, are the only ones that require (or nearly require) advanced generals to set up. Also, tavern generals are irrelevant to farming, so mentioning "non-tavern" is wholly redundant

This is my tactic for this. I don't have generals(gathering many medals for good one) and i use all the ships instead of ones with only generals. I use 7 ships and the others are behind to replace anyone lost. I keep doing this till either all enemies are dead or leaving(almost every time) or till all my troops are dead. This way i earn 15-20 medals with each go. Everything else is the same with Erich von Manstein's tactic(save etc.). Also the image isn't very representavive of what i mean but i hope you get the general idea:).Also because the first enemies always die you have to move the remaining forces to hunt them(bot left corner most of the time). This can sometimes boring and gets off the initial idea of sitting and pressing next turn button but gives more medals. Usually you don't attack in your turn but i do if i see enemy ship low health/ready-to-die with general because it has more chances to give medal(FYI).
