Hey, so this is my first thread on EW4.
So I just downloaded EW4 a bit ago and got through a few campaigns and now have around 880 medals. I haven't purchased any generals, and he's the most recommended general available to me currently (by Picard's guide). Should I go ahead and get him?
I know this is a noob-ish question, but I'm more of a WC3 guy. :3

It depends on his play style. I like general with good output against human and fort so Sulkowski is my choice. Well, if he needs someone can rush for conquest, Raevesky is a good one.

Yes! Get Raevsky! Sulkowski is better but not enough to go on a wild-goose chase I got Raevsky, but after I did, i refreshed the page and Golitsyn appeared first thing; only have 155 medals ;-; and Davout is also first in my 3* general roll so yay  |

However, he is the last slot filler |

Have to say that while i see sulkowski, raevsky, scharnhorst,... usually in HQ but I don't remember anytime I see Golytsin. Hence I kinda jealous for anyone have him in HQ, though i don't need him now.

Jean-Luc Picard, Being a beginner at EW4, would I need those cheap generals for the first two campaign levels instead of grinding conquest for medals to get Golitsyn? Hopefully you get what I'm asking

Well if you want Golitsyn now, there might be issues later.
Golitsyn has been deemed the "last slot filler", as unless you buy another slot whoever is in the last slot cannot be trained.
Golitsyn is perfect for this role with the better two our of three cav skills, and has max cav and 3 movement stars.
However, in the beginning you want trainers or people who are worth their value.
Now Golitsyn is great, but he is near max potential and also has no regrouping value.
The more preferable choice would be Dumoriez, who has a fair amount of combat capability, and also has regrouping value.
Also, it might be hard to be the last few levels of the first campaigns with only Raevesky. But farming medals for new gens is always a viable method.

You can use both of them and try to get Fatimah for buying items later
