Hi can you yell me what I need to do to unlock the extra/secret mission in Campaign mode. I've completed 1798 and got 5 stars on all but 2 missions, 3 stars on those  is is there something else I need to do to unlock the mission? thanks |

Usually in the previous mission to the special bonus mission there is an optional gold objective to accomplish,if you achieve it the next locked mission unlocks.

Yeah like how objectives have the red marker under them, the bonus will have a yellow marker. In the Coalition campaign, Return to Rhine has a bonus. It is the French fort in the south. You can go from there. Destroy the fort btw

Do you need to complete the whole mission to unlock the bonus mission, or just the golden objective?

You need the objective plus beating the mission.

I normally just went for the yellow city in a separate attempt and restarted the whole thing as soon as I unlocked the bonus campaign

You don't need to complete the mission? Are you saying that based off of WC3 or actually EW4?

I'm not 100% sure about EW4 but I think you have to finish the campaign to unlock extra missions. Seems like I messed it up with WC3

Yeah. In WC3 you can get the bonus, then restart so that you don't have to expend troops for it. In EW4 though, to unlock the bonus mission you need to obtain the bonus, and win the mission.

Hated that part. What I did was doing the normal mission first and then get the yellow goal if I had enough turns left or I would finish the mission and then redo it to get the yellow goal |

I normally aim to finish the mission with 5 stars first. After that, I can just redo the mission for yellow goal without worrying about number of turns.

If this is your first time playing this mission, I don't reccommend trying to get it as this mission is quite difficult. |

The first secret mission is Battle of Trebbia. It can be unlocked in Return to Rhine mission. The yellow target is a fortress in the south of the map.
