I have won all stars aliens conquests using a bit different strategy than described in how to. Don't remember how many turns, something between 60 and 80 depending on country. Not sure, which strategy is better, as I haven't tried that one with RA, I just prefer to find the solution myself and read that topic only after I have already finished all aliens conquests. I think the best solution is something combined.
To use my strategy you need the following: built 1 or 2 ECs with at least 120 hp, 3 art stars, 2 explosives, 2 plain, 2 street, 2 barrage, 2 supply (costs 2600 medals). And at most 200 hp, 3 art stars, 3 explosives, 3 plain, 3 street, 3 barrage, 3 supply (costs 6130 medals). Movement stars are not so important, 1 star which costs 30 medals would be ok. Described above gen with lv3 skills in field art can kill some 7-8 aliens protecting city and stay alive without the help of nukes or airraft. And by the next attack he will recover enough hp to stay alive too. Gen with lv2 skills can do the same, but he will need some support with nukes or aircraft. For that purpose is better if you give him some 3 air stars which cost 210 medals. Also you need supply at some level 5-6 at least, sure high art tech is welcome too. So your main objective is to capture the cities, which aliens like to attack very much, and put there these art gens and everything else you can do with nukes and paraspam. Aliens build units quite slowly, so most of the cities you can attack unprotected just with PMI, other cities, where aliens reside, you can nuke first to kill aliens and than finish with PMI. Also don't kill towers if they can't attack the city where you need to leave your gen, just let the towers stay where they are, they don't make much problems. Sure, when you plan your expansion, capture nuke factories first. And don't leave any city to capture later, if it is close to you, capture as soon as you can, as alien, which can be produced there, can make you problems. In case any aliens attack your unprotected cities, than kill UFOs with 2 LRBs or specaships with 1 atomic bomb. For example, for USA this strategy is quite typical: your first objective is to capture New York (this can be done quite quickly). Than you keep one gen protecting San Francisco and Los Angeles and other protecting Washington and New York. If you have only one EC of such kind, you can protect other 2 cities with some gens switching then from time to time. For example, Govorov protects the city, when he rans out of hp, he goes to next city to regenerate, and during that time Guderian protects the city. May be you can also build some RAs to help gen in the city (I haven't tried but I think that have to work). Than you start producing nukes and capture all North America (90% of attacks will be on these two cities, which will not cost you anything, so you will have enough money to produce nukes and kill all other aliens with missiles or atomic bombs). When you have captured all North America, you can proceed the same way to Japan and so on. If you do it enough quickly, you will be able to kill allenemies with missiles or nukes. Just the clue is to keep your art ECs which is described above in the cities, which are most attacked and do it until you have enugh income and nuke factories to proceed enough quickly further. Sure, it will be better to use other gens to capture some cities. Also when you have enough land, don't be lazy to watch enemy's turn (most likely it will not take too long time as by that time there will not be so manu aliens around and most allies will be dead), so you will know, which cities need protection.
