How to get literature fast and easy
You have been doing a lot of missions and invasions in Empire mode, and by such you got a lot of experience which made you to level up. Suddently, on the top of your screen, a big icon has begun to flash. You pressed it curiously but you found out that you needed more literature to develop to the next age (and maybe coins too). Why should you care to level up your age? Primarly, because it allows you to give more stars to your generals which allows you to finish more campaings and conquer more cities in the world. Secondly because it unlocks a new conquest and new set of campaigns, which bring in a lot of awesome prizes. Now, IF I got you interested we should start.
You need to farm literature because campaings are pretty hard and don't give enough, while missions give it too slow to remain interested in the game for most ( in low ages you can get 5-6 literature/day, in higher you may ge about 14-16/day, which is still quite a low amount). The answer here is doing conquest, especially Classical Greece.
Reasons for choosing Classical Greece conquest:
-It yields a good amount of literature (20)
-It is during classical era, so everyone can do it and it is easier than any other era (especially since until Discovery Age there is not significant increase in literature)
-It is fast since the world is the smallest (fewest cities on the map)
-You can autobattle a lot, which saves you great amounts of time
-It also gives a good amount of coins (15000) since you are using a 1 star country
-It starts with just 2(3) battle fronts since you are for 99 turns allied with the Romans
-You can conquer Persia like Alexander, with Alexander .
Strategy:
I am now using 4 star Alexander, Barbarossa, Saladin and Catherine, but I am confident that is works with 3 stars generals too. The most important aspect about the generals is to have regenaration in one way (items) or another (at least 40% Logistics). If you can't help them regenarate you should try to give that generals at least 1500 health and/or some meatshield units like warriors. In the images below the coloured paths indicate the way in which generals should go (one path=one generals). They should fight alone, using autobattle for most part, since your point is to get as much literature as quickly as possible. The grey path represents the way that normal troops should attack, you should mostly use siege equipment/arty since most of the enemy troops are killed by generals and those cities have high level and pretty good defenses. You should be able to finish in 20-30 turns.
Specific information:
You should use an archer general against the huns, since they go a lot of cavalry. They sometimes surrender if you take Karakorum, but other times you have to take Ulan Bator too.
Carthage will most likely be conquered by Romans and move capital to Madrid. Take Djenne (that 5 level city in Africa) as the image shows for extra safety.
Japan surrender if just take Osaka most of the time.
Egypt is annoying and after you take Alexandria and Cairo they will move their capital to Tripoli, and after that to Sicily/Thebes.
You will have to take all Persian cities to defeat them.
After taking Chang-an, China will move it capital to Seoul or Lhasa, then they will most likely surrender.
Inca will surrender after taking Cuzco, even if they got Tehoicathan.(Can't get the spelling right on that one)
English will most likely surrender after taking London from Bruxelles. Alternatively, you can use your general from Mexic by taking Dublin then London for extra safety.
Break the alliance with Romans at around turn 15-20 and they will surrender if you have Rome, Madrid, Paris (and London).
Edit: In the second picture, you are supposed to follow that path with the "blues" general, not the "yellow" one, since he will be too slow.

I wish you have a merry farming and a happy New Year !
