My friend also plays wc3 and he is a begginer with around 1200. He wants to know if list is a good general?

I once, when looking for a tank general to Replace Meyer, compared mostly List, Bock, and Itagaki.
I decided to go with Bock. I like Bock, but not sure I suggest him. I no longer have the ability to check their stats, but I believe List is a fairly basic general, so he should look for a stronger general.
If he has no generals and wants a cheap tank general, get Crerar. Cheap, good, Canadian, he only has 2 stars but his max plain skill more than makes up for it.

If he's going to buy first gen, than art would be better than tank. Bado is the best, If he can't wait, Crear is a good alternative. Not so good, but cheap. If that's not his first gen, than he don't need List even more. It's better to save medals for better tank gen.

I'm going to say List isn't very good. Badoglio + Crerar is a better combination.
