Sorry for such a terrible question. I have searched for the answer but can't find any thing. How do you build land forts and bunkers? I've tried all I can think of? Thanks in advance

Click on any empty slot of land and press the button that looks like a turret. There you'll be able to select a fort

Right, but not any empty slot, but any slot of your land (which is in your colour, it becomes such after your unit steps on it).
