Somebody help me. Do colleges exist or not? Am I living a lie? Oh who I am kidding. Of course I am. BUT TO WHAT EXTENT? Colleges do exist, it's just Americans decided to use a completely different and needlessly more complicated school system. I know what you mean. I don't know where I fall under here since it's the American system which has too many categories (we just have pre school which is one year then Primary School which is Kindegarten to Year 6 p, then high school which is year 7 to 10 the college which is years 11 and 12 and then university.) In America it's pre-school, then Kindergarten, then grades 1-5 are knows as elementary school. Grades 6-8 are middle school AKA junior high. Grades 9-12 are high school. Once you graduate high school you can go on to college or join the work force.

Jean-Luc Picard, When I was in Tennessee (middle school years) we had the TCAPs. Basically it was a middle-school version of ACTs, but it counted for 10% additionally. Not sure if other countries / states have something like that too

I would note that its comes from german for "garden for the children" according to wikipedia. So in English it would actualy be best spelled as kindergarden, or kidgarden.
