I feel like I need more generals before I can complete Scotland 3. There is always the chance I'm wrong. I have 27,700 coins and 2,285 medals. My generals are listed below: Alexander (lvl. 2) - I've given him boots with loads of movement and a crown Robin Hood (lvl. 2) - Weapon Heavily increases his damage Hannibal (lvl. 2) - Full set of the worst of everything Joanne of Arc (lvl. 2) Montezuma (lvl. 2) - A couple low items Cleopatra (lvl. 2) - Almost a full set of low items Huo Qubing (lvl. 1) Pachacuti (lvl. 2) Leonidas (lvl. 1)
You think it likely is my generals or items that's affecting how well I play this level? What other items or generals should I get? Who should I help with them?
You still think it's my strategy that's causing my loss? I try and kill Richard with either 2 Cav + Alex or Alex + Archery + Hannibal and when I'm done with him, my generals wait for my enemies to become visible. I use the remaining generals that I have to defend the walls of my land, and whenever the threats have been eliminated, they move North. The only problem with my strategy, is that Wallace dies before I can finish it.

Do your best to keep Wallace alive When Wallace advances to the north he's gonna step on the spikes so to prevent that you are going to have to advance your own units on the spikes. For unit production you should be making lots of longbows.

Hmm. Discovery age campaign is so hard I forgot how hard medieval was. I cant wait for you to reach it so everybody helps out. Personal story: When I defeated this level, Edward was retreating past the final wall in the North-east. I was really lucky-Cleopatra sniper-shot him via catapult One thing you can do if you have the patience and it has appeared on map- England Spain and Greece princesses have +25% to Stables, Barracks and archer respectively. Why they don't switch Greek archer princess with Elizabeth (Stable) I just don't know. Isabella of spain would be best choice I think. Unless you are spamming longbows. As for the map, maybe more focus on defending Wallace? I guess he probably moves north, Brave Scot with a heart full of Rock that he is. Also, you could try less focus on Richard, but I bet you have a good reason to attack him. After all, you said he is earliest visable enemy.

For unit production you should be making lots of longbows. I'm starting to remember it, but I wish I had your power of recollection. My boi wallace is very proactive. Luckily he is too slow to move to the east and get killed by edward-slower than I was anyway. Yes, I clearly remember supporting Wallace to the top, then outracing him to Edward in the center. Of course, as my personal story showed, I was very lucky to kill Edward. Longbows indeed. Isabella is good, but we are speaking of specific level.

Again, I have managed to do it with your strategies. Thank you!

Now you have to make a very difficult decision indeed. Like in a quest game you have different choices, and it could influence your next decisions for a long time to come. I explain, what i mean. What makes ew5 so exciting for many? In my opinion it is the simple fact that success in the game is almost impossible without careful strategical planning (and without great deal of patience of course). Neither a single skill is decisive, nor a sum of skills, but only a combination of skills and abilities of your generals. Some skills and abilities work well together. You must take it into account to maximize the overall strength of your yeam. For example, you buy Attila now. One of his skills is "cavalry commander". It is a great skill... for cavalry. This skill maximizes attack of all friendly cavalry units whithin range up to 50 percent for 2-3 turns. So, to make this skill of Attila more effective, your next choice with high probability will be another cavalry commander. And so on, your former step determines the next one... My first choice was Caesar. And to make him more effective, I develop Barbarossa also (who has "infantry commander" skill). In my opinion Caesar, Alex an Barbarossa must stick together. To avoid this desision now (maybe later you choose Nobunaga instead of Caesar or Attila), you can buy Li Shimin. He is a great general, useful in many circumstances. One great artillery general (maybe two) anyway is indispensable for the team. And his fire dragon is a dangerous weapon even in campaigns of Empire age. Meanwhile you can think over carefully your next steps. I do not think, that there is only one "wise" choice. As one former chess champion once said - "There is no attacking style or defensive style. There is only a winning style and a loosing stile"

Not exactly. I do not know, what will be working for you. It is up to you to make this decision. But every decision has its own consequences. Maybe choosing Li Shimin as first top general is more practical. Less involvement in infantry or cavalry tactics before you make the final choice.

I am still woundering what to do about my team: a blend of all 4 types Atilla (5*) and saladin (6*) have to be upgrade fully but do play arole. Nobunaga (6*, my best general) and catharine (6*, cheap but strong) Napolion (6*, could be bismarck), li shimin (5*, almost6*) Alexander (6*, has to upgraded in skillz), licoln (*5 star). I am not happy with licoln and thinking between caesar or moctozuma. Both will take lots of medals and time but I want a healing generla. Since i am more a archer commander I think of choosing him. What do you guys think? (Taken in account the lots of medals needed for a full caesar to create)

Thanks for supporting! Caesar is a great general, but also a very expensive one. Someone has told me that the highest level of this skill costs about 900 medals. In comparison the same ability of Moctezuma is quite cheap. I do not think there will be a great difficulty to upgrade his healing skill soon enough. But his stats (defense, offence, so on...), of course, are not impressive. If it was not request for healing ability, but just general considerations, I would say Nelson could be of use. He is quite strong, he has 1-3 attack range, and his "archer commander" will help Nobunaga to be a real killer.

I have
3* Alexander: Knight armor, flintlock, silver necklace and steel boots
2* Hannibal: Tomahawk, iron boots, silver ring and plate armor
3* Montezuma: Spear, leather boots, iron armor and a lucky crown
2* Joan of Arc: Tomahawk, cloth boots, plate armor
2* Robin Hood: Spear, long cloth boots, iron shield, ring
2* Cleopatra: Spear, Leather boots, iron shield
I can't get past Forkert for some reason. Are my generals bad or my strategies bad?
