In my memory samurai is like EW4 snare drum? Then it should mean that it keeps max health atk and current health def? Just guessing.

It keeps the same attack and defense regardless of health. About Commander vs Formation, when unupgraded, as said, Formation is definitely much better

Over these two its a matter of preference. I use alexander for his fort damage. If you have the medals than I would take Richard over both of them since he gets the mass fire and armor skill at lvl 6 which imo is much better than the skills Alexander and barbarossa get at lvl 6.

Indeed, I am going to get richard, but first working on Paladin sword and its taking forever. Richard also has logistics and Rumor, which is much better than either IMO Going to have Alexander Fortander replace Bismarck as my second artillery, and Li shimin my first. I would note guys, that while samurai=mass fire, its not as great as that makes sound, as damage loss by health is much less in this game.

I was thinking about Barbarossa as possible substitute for Alexander. He are their stats at 6 stars: Alexander Barbarossa So, due to a gold status Alexander is a bit better. But personally I think that the difference is marginal. Barbarossa has Leadership which is much better than Spy and his Samurai perk additionally contributes if using him as a tank. Moreover, he is a bit cheaper to upgrade as he is purple. For the infantry focused teams his value increases even much as he has infantry comander skill. But in case You are using just one infantry general Barbarossa is a good and cheaper alternative for Alexander. How exactly is leadership better than spy? I ain’t questioning your opinion, I am just a new player who is intrigued

It debuffs enemy's defence. And You will probably not have problems with enemy's defence - Your gens will hit hard. But enemy's attack - I mean enemy gens - is a real problem by the endgame. So Leadership is a must skill. Note: But not many players like Barbarossa. Idk why but players mostly hate him. Maybe because he needs upgrading before his power will become visible

Still, I find that pretty useful, but its doesn’t double the damage you do, best case scenario maybe multiples the damage you do by 1.5 x, whereas attack you can half pretty much. Barbarossa is a cheaper and arguably better substitute to Alexander. However the issue Alexander faces isn’t solved by Barbarossa. The fact is that there are many generals who are better than both of them in end game. These include Petain, Richard, Peter, Caesar. Even Kemal isn’y much worse than Alexander in the end, but is far cheaper. But I suppose you can use him for a while, or at least till you get to industrial. Then replace him.

I used Barbarossa only because of the Leadership skill. Actually my team was archer focused.

My team is going to be mainly archery focused, but with napoleon, caesar, and an infantry leader for caesar.

I used Barbarossa as a meatshield for my archers - main firepower. My team was quite expensive for upgrade, so I decided not to go with Ceaser, as was already using Alexander for some time. Than replaced him with Barbarossa who fitted my playstyle more as he is much better as a debuffing meatshield than Alexander.

Alexander is ok, but upgrading him to gunpowder doesn’t cost much less than buying Yi Sun Sin to take his place.
