I have 4400 medals and have started and restarted this game countless games and only got to discovery age. So I going to change up my general selection. Richard or Caesar or Attila. I could save up for all 3 but then I'd have to save up 2000 more for nobunga or li shimin. I also have Ghengas khan. So any suggestions

Which style do you want to play? Archer or cavalry?

I like to have atleast one archer. Main force of calvary and one or two infantry, depending on the mission, ill substitute one for an arty.

Who do you have right now other than Genghis? Saladin and/or Barbarossa or?
Attila is a must for cavalry lineup. Saladin is also great(conflicts with Blucher, be aware).
Choose 1 between Asoka and Edward, Asoka is better for play-controlled ones, Edward for AI-controlled.
Archer: no doubt Nobunaga.
Artillery: Cleopatra is neat, but if you want another one, Bismarck is also good.

I just restarted so I have ghengas and Alexander plus Hannibal and Robin Hood. I've had Barbarossa and Saladin and suilmen and Attila (who is a beast for only 2250) before. I am more concerned about who I need to have and who is better long term. But since I've never got past discovery age I don't know who is. I have no problem saving up but I want to get all the way this time.

I'd go for Caesar, hes probably the best tank (obv not the tank unit, but he basically is one lmao)

Okay so I now have Caesar, Attila, Ghengas, Hannibal and Robin and a few other coin generals. Since ill eventually get Saladin, Barbarossa, who should I get now, it'll leave me with 400 medals. Save for nobuganda and upgrade cleopatra or get li shimin and continue saving for nobuganda.

If you want, Moctezuma is good for that era. The next should be Nobunaga, I think Cleopatra is enough, but up to you.

Saladin is also great(conflicts with Blucher, be aware). Could you explain a little bit further? Why do you think there will be a conflict between them? Sie werden meiner Meinung nach in einer Mannschaft guenstig und fruchtbar zusammenarbeiten.  They will work well together. Both have HP restoration (Attila has not). Der Preusse has damage reduction and “Rumor” (good defensive abilities). Saladin is great attacking unit. Saladin is for free, so we choose between Blucher and Attila. They both have great abilities. The only difference imo is that Attila could be very effective right from the start. But Blucher will be in future great team player (at level 6 he has both good individual and team skills and abilities). And in the end they all are not obligatory mutually exclusive. I could well imagine a team: Atilla – Saladin – Bucher – Nobunaga – (one more archer) – (one free infantry General Alex or Barbarossa) – Der eiserne Kanzler Bismarck. |

And to the question Caesar or Lionheart… Well in fact this question is only valid at level 6. Until that Caesar is far superior in my opinion. But of course he is very expensive. Now I’m trying to reach the 10-th level of his healing ability. I’ve paid already 880 medals for level 9 and now 1100 more. No fun at all! But I was never disappointed by his performance…

If i would restart and dont buy iaps i think i will get caesar, nobunaga, li shimin; atilla (saladin, alexander and bismarck and isabelle are for free). Only missing skill in defensive skill for whole team. Dunno if you need thta
Since you have g khan i think you dont need atilla. I dont agree with manstein about cleopatra but i think we have a different game play. I always depend on strong artillery support.
