The gingivitis is an extremely effective weapon against... everybody actually. Advantageous indeed. The only counter is Doctors, and we are medieval

I'd love a crossbow but as soon as I shot it I'd probably puncture a lung with my broken ribs. I guess I'll take a flail. Smack people over the head with it.

The whole "oh medieval weapons and armour are so heavy you need a crane to get on a horse" is utter drivle. I could use a crossbow and I weigh 50 kg

I could use a crossbow and I weigh 50 kg I could lift it but that long reload would be bad. I'd probably fumble the bolt more than once and get decapitated before you can say "The dilapidated dancer donned the dance of the dawning dew."

Most crossbows have a shaft in the center that the bold can easily slide into. Of course, loading it is what takes the strength. Pulling it into place requires you to struggle a bit on a small one, but heavy crossbows you need to actually put the front on the floor, put your leg on the crosshairs and heave.

No Bohemian Earspoon, Partisan, Goedendag, or Bardiche? I'll choose pike, mainly because I'm partial to the tercio.

In discovery age, Tercios, instead of the natural -50 to -100% resistance to most Cavalry, they gain +50% defense against them. This turns them from a easy target, to near impossible to kill, at least by Cavalry. Not too easy to kill with others either. To make matters worse, most of the Discovery campaign missions have you fighting Tercio's. I can't wait for gunpowder in that regard.

Pikes are supposed to anti cav, not cavalry massacring spearmen. The Spanish tercio only got defeated at Rocroi during the 30yw, under artillery bombardment and repeated cavalry and infantry charges for 5 days.

Actually, pikes/spearsmen are anti-cav AND anti-inf in real life. But in popular war games, they're set to be anti-cav, cav set to be anti-inf, inf set to anti-pike, forming a rock-paper-scissors relationship.

One of the few Easy-tech games to use this RPS mechanic, and the Tercio turns it around completely. (well, it doesn't do extra damage to Cav, but I'd find that less useful, since still take heavy damage)

This choosing 1 thing is killing me, I'm good with a bow, I would love a mace, closest here is the flail, and I would like a pike shield combo. Crossbow would be cool too...I DON'T KNOW D:
