Well, I think a thread, where we could summarize our mistakes in the game, would be useful for novice players. And not only mistakes, but also things, that could be done differenly (seeing from the heights of current experience:0)

Wasting medals from the start instead of saving for good ol caesar *.* It is a good point: should we save from the start or should we spent? I personally did exactly as you say :0), but what if upgrading second-rate generals (of course only to some extent) is not a waste but an investment? I could finish some levels faster and recive quick better awards in Empire mod (first of all, additional daily missions).

After contimplation I have come to a conclusion It is impossible to progress without improvement Improvement comes from upgrading It is unlikely one would reach Caesar without progressing Therefore, in order to reach Caesar, one must improve by upgrading

Upping inspiration on Pachachuti or whatever his name is because "It's cheap, I'm sure it ain't that big of a deal" Not checking the stats on AI units and losing troops to oneshotting ranged units like these .org/image/pcj8olv4h/] [/url]

But then it is necessary to pay attention to the overall development of the team.

English longbowmen in this campaign should be avoided at all costs...

But then it is necessary to pay attention to the overall development of the team. Philosophy class finally came in handy The biggest issue following the attempt at getting one's first great general is a slow of progress. While one can say the obtaining of Caesar or Attila is the "first improvement", one might be tempted to try and make it easier by making an earlier "first improvement", and this could soon develop into a cycle, leading into an impossibility of reaching a great general.

Therefore, I think, to avoid such vicious circle an elaborate plan is of great use. As in chess, even a bad plan is better than no plan at all. So it would be possible to build a single chain: strategic aim - plan - achievement.
If there is no such chain - problems are evident (endless questions: What should I do next?)

For example:
Intermediate strategic aim - to recive through daily missions as many medals as possible as soon as possible.
Plan - to conquer 155 cities in Empire mod to recive 400 medals in 24 h.
Implementation - to build a team capable to conquer 155 cities (keeping in mind that it is not a final, but an intermediate aim)

The main failure I did was not getting Attila or Caesar, I got Richard li shimin and nominate but would have been amazing to have Caesar also wasted some medals on formation master..

My biggest mistake was buying Caesar. Now that I'm in Discovery Age, it's practically impossible to do without a god artillery general. I should have bought Li Shimin instead of Caesar.

Another big mistake of mine was upgrading some of Wallace's skills.....a huge waste. Also getting li shimin so late I had to use cleopatra for awhile
