I live in Silicon Valley and I don't get the first one. They are very restricted to the field First one was pretty involved, but Conrads joke is classic. Even if you don't get the "10" part its obvious what the intention is. I think it might have something to do with the importantance of code to even basic programmers. (the first joke) I got Conrad's joke. You must remember that I'm a University Graduate

Basically, people who waste time learning the leetspeak are wasting their lives being geeks who live in their mom's basement and owns a computer from every era since early 80's. A stereotype surrounding the IT field.
