New GM = The Spanish Inquisition Now in progress! It is the year 1900, and tension is rising between the European powers. Militarism, nationalism, and imperialism are increasing as competition is as well. Now every country is pushing to expand their power, and the only way to do that is to take other places over. Well Africa and the Americas have all been colonized, so where will they choose to expand their power to next. Will they choose to expand into Asia or attack their neighbors where tension has reached a new level? I'm currently split between France and AH. France has colonies, but AH has Napoleon Bonaparte as an ally. |

I had assumed that the countries has a choice of picking allies...? Of course they do! That's why I gave them an extra 14 years to negotiate with neighbors. It can be USA and Serbia vs. Everyone else for all I care. |

I'll be the UK. If no one else takes it can I also have Australia? Historically at 1900 Australia is still a colony anyway and when it did become independent it was still largely under British control? I ask because it's my hole country so I would like it.

I was only including them since they seemed so involved in the War. I understand that this is because they were a UK colony, but still. They're under less involved players, so they're not required. You can have them if all other big name countries have been taken. |

I can't let you reserve it until all of the ones without asterisks have been taken. I suppose I get why your saying that but I strongly disagree. Firstly this is an alternative history. While the "major players" you have listed may have been the major players in our timeline what's to say they'll be the major players in our alternate one? By restricting us to those players you are restricting Te RP itself by making it more in line with what actually happened. I for one would love to see something like a dispute in China between the powers that have ports there or something like that be the cause of the world war, in which case countries like Japan and Australia would be more important than Belgium. I want something different. If I didn't I'd go read a history book. By saying Belgium must be taken an is more important before Japan you are saying "the war needs to begin in Europe" which defeats the purpose of an alternate history. |
