I know, I just having trouble fighting off surrounding forces...if you have advice to post I am willing to listen. You're generals should only be used to break through enemy lines and capture strategic points. Leave the mopping up to the normal troops. The trick lies in knowing what the strategic points are. There are one or two frontier fortresses in France which as HRE 1798 it is good to see destroyed early (they guard artillery factories etc) and Sophia is good for that, but then she needs to go to Paris with cavalry support and, after Paris is reduced, she needs to go to Italy fast, kill the fort at Milan and then at least weaken Napoleon for others to finish off before going to Istanbul. I spent too much time having her kill ALL the northern forts when she should have left them to triple grenadier units raised in Paris and artillery from the factory just next to it.

America is easy. And I do think their is a guide, btw...check the forum for it.
Flank to the East of britain, following the coast. Boom. that's that area done. Push into the southern areas, then Spain (generals down here are optional, but one is recommended). Not that hard to defeat these guys. Indians? Just push hard into them. You get a guy on Cav (forgot his name) with high movement, and he can easily take their unattended cities, then flank the British in the west.

Going for elite princesses on HRE, you have to use cavalry on the western front. Artillery and infantry are just too slow and don't have the ability to battle and take a city on the same turn. In my opinion, once you get decent gernerals, the main fronts (France and Ottoman) aren't hard to complete in time. It's Denmark/Norway, Spain, or Poland (if Suvorov does nothing- I had a 28 turn, 9999 gold, 2343 iron, 9687 food HRE conquest ruined by his inability to move anywhere).
