Maybe I should try my hand at general analysis.... Nah, too ignorant. Too kind, actually. You have to smash Leonidas hard in analysis. Very true. I have thought of a 2 point punch. 1. He is the weakest in the circle list, proving his uselessness. 2. I'm pretty sure he is as weak as a generic unit. You can't get much (any?) worse than that. I should test him, prove my theory.

Someone should create a general analysis thread.....for those who are noob (like me) at choosing or using the right generals as reference. I'll do it. I lost interest in EW4, so I can analyze 1st 4 ages of EW5. I am looking forward to it.

Is there any coin generals I should purchase in Medieval Age? Also, I have other unrelated questions, should I build Kiew in empire mode and should I progress to Empire Age?

Sooner or later you will purchase all coin generals (for your daily missions). But maybe now it is better to save coins for buildings. 2. Kiev, Carthage and 4 more cities are some kind of mini-game. They will give you coins, some amount of medals and items. 3.I see no reason why you should not progress to the next age...

Is it better for me to complete Medieval Age campaigns first before upgrading to Empire Age?

Is it better for me to complete Medieval Age campaigns first before upgrading to Empire Age? I don't think so. You will get stronger generals if you upgrade, and the invasions probably don't get much harder, if they get harder at all. I'm about to upgrade to Industrial, yet I have not completed gunpowder. I upgraded to gunpowder long before finishing discovery. For me (for most, if not actually all) it simply becomes too difficult to complete campaigns while in the same age.

Is it better for me to complete Medieval Age campaigns first before upgrading to Empire Age? You should upgrade. Some, particularly Discovery Age, are almost impossible with generals of the same age.

Ok, I need help here, which generals (especially coin generals) should I get in Empire Age and what is the best way to earn medals? Also which general I should upgrade to 2/3 star ? I have Alexander the Great (2 star), Robin Hood (1 star), Pachacuti (2 star), Cleopatra (2 star), St Joan of Arc (2 star), Hannibal (2 star), Huo Qubing (1 star), and Leonidas (1 star). (Nevermind him once again I say.)

(Nevermind him once again I say.) What are the coin generals avaliable? At some point you should get them all. I'd say get the Archer general Nobunaga, everybody loves him, and he gets a good ability at level 4 and its returned to him at level 6. Don't upgrade Huo, Joan, Pachacuti, or Robin hood. They are too weak. (Robin hood gets good skill at level 2, but should not be upgraded past that, and you left him at 1. Catherine, discovery age coin general, should replace him) Since you don't have Moctezuma, should get him. He is not empire age, and unlike many I don't really recommend using him all game, but he is better than most of your gens. Anyway, I would upgrade Hannibal, but no further than level 3. I'd also upgrade Alexander. He loses his special ability till level 6, but he is definitely your strongest general right now. Cleopatra, might be reasonable to upgrade her, even though I don't recommend using her the entire game. ALSO, Saladin is a reasonable cavalry, from empire age. He is in medina in empire mode.

Should I upgrade Alexander to Empire Age? Yes. He may lose fort cracking, but he gains enough to counter that.
