i like the idea of the fact you train your own army before the war, just like real life, unlike EW4, you can't create troops in battle anymore, so if you have won the first strikes, it isn't garantueed that you've won. you can level up your troops till stronger ones, so if you can't pass a campaign, you eventually pass it because your troops are stronger, this makes the game intresting. (of course if you maxed out the troops and still fails you got a problem). i don't attack other players much. the campaign mode is hard but not too hard, eventually you pass it when you've founded the right strategy. the major downside of the game is that you can only have up to 9 troops. but if you use it well, you can handle an army of 30 troops. in the campaign mode you also got allies that help you (they are shown in green), the enemy is shown in red. in conquest mode you don't got allies. if you run out of food your troops will be bad moraled or eventually end with a question mark above his head. the rewards of a campaign is huge. in conquest mode it will be up to 150 medals. (the most expensive general cost 1000 medals. so you can easily get the good ones. my advise will be: don't buy bad generals but save up for good ones.

Your review makes it sound awesome. I didn't know there was conquest mode. you unlock conquest mode after finishing the first campaigns. so you don't have it from the start

Anyway: Definitely EW4. You have many skill combos so you can pick and choose based on your playing style ("Do I want my infantry General to have Formation or Mass Fire? Mass Fire, OK, I'll get Dobeln") and you can up your generals' stars, adding more power (Sophia's an artillery gen, but some of her skills could be sweeet for Cavalry. I think I'll give her a cav star).
