We Americans do like to do things uniquely but we're often trendsetters influencing the rest of the world or we're pragmatic enough to adhere along with the rest ofthe world when we do need to.
I thought of something that America do the same as the majority of the world but the Brits and their Commonwealth don't... driving on a certain side of the roads!
So what do you prefer? (For the jokesters or trolls, I've kindly included an additional option but rest assured if you do drive off the roads in a city, you WILL receive a citation and an appointment to the local courthouse for sure).

Probably because Canadians got tired of the confusion every time they goes south over the border, or maybe we forced Canada to change when we got tired of their weird roads? I kid...

If I went to a country that drives on the left side I would constantly have mini panic attacks thinking I'm on the oncoming side.

I kid... first I was annoyed that in this measurement Canada does not qualify as commonwealth. Now im coming to burn your White House again. You? I don't think the Brits would take it kindly for stealing their thunder. In 1812, Canada was barely a British colony. Quebec had more people than the rest of your Canada at that time. I doubt that Frenchmen were lining up to sign up for a war against the Americans, so it's more likely that whoever burned the white house came from Britain rather than any portion of Canada. And let see if you or they could come over and try it now in 2017. Best of luck. This is meant to be a lighthearted poll, but in all seriousness it's a good sign that Canada has more pragmatism to switch over to driving on the right side of the road before the rest of the Commonwealth.

Off-road, because the maniacs are all on the freeway. I don't know about that... There's maniacs in the woods too. By the looks of what Von Bismarck jr said, I must be correct.

Do the British complain much about this topic? Both wars with America were unimportant to the British, and I doubt that mental opinion has changed much. Yes, a large majority, quite possibly all, of the men who burned Washington were non-Canadian British. However the war of 1812 was a team effort, and I'm not sure the British would have attempted it if the Canadian colony had already fell. Which it would have with no support. The Americans at the beginning of the war of 1812, committed the grave mistake of expecting the Canadians to join their revolution. I see that belief has survived in some part. Actually, the French-Canadians supported the war, and are honoured for it. Also, the war was brought to Quebec, not the other way around. The Americans invaded, and like in 1775 they were defeated. Anyway, before the rest of the commonwealth? You really think the Commonwealth is going to convert to the American system?

Reading about it, supposedly the reason Canada drives on the right is not because of American influence, but French influence. The regions that were British (atlantic, far west) drove on the left, and in the 1920s joined the mainstream of Canada and USA.
Newfoundland followed the Commonwealth standard until it joined Canada in 1949, apparently.
I wonder, what is worse? That Canada is not like the commonwealth because of USA, or because of France?
