I personally feel that anime is weird. And when it comes to the appearance of characters. It gets ridiculous (like eyes being bigger than your entire face, out of proportion hair etc). Do you guys feel the same?

If I could get my hair like one of those anime characters, I'd be set. I've never particularly watched anime at any point. Maybe one or two episodes of a show.
The big eyes are meant to make the characters look cartoony.

No, it's not weird at all, after all anime is ment to be fictional not realistic.

The characters look weird. They're nominally human, but don't look the part at all.

I like to think that everything has its own meaning and nothing is weird, but then I've seen anime pictures. No obscurities vs. Lots of obscurities. It seems like we're leaning towards Lots of Obscurities.

Every genre or subgenere has its own weirdnesses or logic-fails.
For example, every major Sci-Fi show that has spacecrafts has one common fail: bad electronic design. Every time a ship gets hit, the consoles in the cockpit/bridge sends out showers of spark at the human occupant no matter how unrelated the damaged area is to the bridge.
It's a custom set by the oldie Star Trek TOS and every regular viewer of that genre understand that the sparks gives the audience a visual reminder of the life-threatening dangers of spaceship combat, and it helps to have a wounded crew member to facilitate the emotional response from the audience.

Do you guys feel the same? Then we should say that 95% of all animation in every country in the entire world is weird for giving people only 4 fingers per hand. In real life, we have FIVE fingers per hand, so how's that not weird but anime is weird?

I've argued with others about this, but now I hear this from you? I was proven right the other time(s?), BTW. I'm sure that in most Anime the characters have 5 digits sooner or later. I wonder if having only 4 fingers is part of the legendary difficulty of drawing hands. Anyway, hard question. I think that anime is often "weird" though certain anime are quite realistic and serious in their construction.

English dictionaries describe finger as meaning either one of the five digits including the thumb, or one of the four excluding the thumb (in which case they are numbered from 1 to 4 starting with the index finger closest to the thumb).[1][2][17] Linguistically, it appears that the original sense was to include the thumb as a finger: the word is derived from *penkwe-ros (also rendered as *penqrós) which was, in the Proto-Indo-European language, a suffixed form of *penkwe (or *penqe), "five".[18] In English only the digits on the hand are known as fingers. However, in some languages the translated version of fingers can mean either the digits on the hand or feet. In English a digit on a foot has the distinct name of toe.

Good thing they don't go anime on WW2. Having a anime hitler will make it so messed up.
Plus a anime fight will become a hype fight with power and jumping everywhere.

However, in some languages the translated version of fingers can mean either the digits on the hand or feet. In English a digit on a foot has the distinct name of toe. Yes, I just read that wikipedia article. I was tempted to quote the etymology, as its interesting how in our primitive youth, the digits were combined. The original meaning, no doubt before any modern culture, was perfect in its simplicity. Note that the dictionaries often do not include the thumb as a "Finger" I imagine its easier to cater to the rebels than demand they count 4+1. Free Dictionary: One of the five digits of the hand, especially one other than the thumb. This is true of most dictionaries I looked at. Wiktionary: A slender jointed extremity of the human hand, (usually) exclusive of the thumb. The wikipedia article claims its oldest meaning was five (fifth digit, perhaps meaning fifth finger) but the other sources I look at disagree. Also Online etymology dictionary says: Compare Greek megas daktylos "thumb," but Greek also had antikheir, literally " what is opposite the fingers." In conclusion, the majority consensus is its not a finger, provided that some will count it as one regardless. I think from actually looking at what they do, its clear that everybody should be refraining from calling it a finger. It has a much more extreme bending motion, is set away and below the other digits, and most animals have not evolved a thumb, even though you could probably call their other digits fingers and toes. BTW, I'm no big anime fan, but I've watched a few, read a bunch of the book versions, so its not super comfortable saying its weird, though many anime are weird, I suppose. I think its obvious that in this poll saying its weird is taking an anti-anime stance, however moderate. Edit: Perhaps I shouldn't be so authortarian on this subject. BTW, when I searched about thumb, most definitions did define it as a finger, though more than one said it was not a finger. I guess they are quite accepting of the finger belief, though that does not mean that its not divided. Nobody says its not a thumb, but a small minority of jerks refuse it finger status I still think 100% that it is different in function and form from a finger. Apparently it also has a total of one less bone than the fingers, though that is not conclusive evidence. Wikipedia lists a couple more major differences, despite still referring to it as a finger.

Unfortunately, there is several anime with either hitler being a main (evil) character, or having cameos. To my knowledge anyway. As for normal nazis, there is a bunch with them. Since world war 2 is such a important art genre, I'm sure you can find world war 2 anime. Loads of similar topics at least. In fact, a world war 2 anime (movie) without nazis is Grave of the fireflies, a very serious anime about 2 Japanese children living on their own after their caretakers are killed by American bombs. Their father is in the Japanese navy, and is very likely dead. That anime I would hesitate to call weird. Of course, Studio Ghibli is probably more restrained in art style than the usual anime that come out each year.
