Just as the title says. it can be from anywhere: movies, games, books, etc. What major combatant countries from this era do you enjoy reading/watching/playing about? I.e.: do you like Germany vs. USSR? USA vs. Germany? U.K. vs. Japan? :3

I personally admire the "battle" of the Atlantic the most. It was more so an entire campaign with multiple segmented battles in the course of its timeline. Winston Churchill is said to have feared admirals Dönitz and Raeder plus the enitre U-Boat peril more than anything else in the entire war. You have to think about it specifically, Britain was almost purely surviving due to the Lend-Lease act, which to mention was being horribly crippled due to the German Wolf Packs. Entire allied campaigns including those of the soviets may have not been deemed plausible if it were not for American shipments and supplies, and the Atlantic was were the major crisis of the war lie. Dönitz knew that to cripple the allies he needed to win the atlantic, wage unrestricted submarine warfare, and strike in the outer limits of possible allied aerial escorts. It was a turning point in the war and the longest campaign of the entire war, which expanded the entire time-frame but major efforts ended in 43. Britain itself could have been starved out of natural resources and foodstuffs if the Nazi fleet succeeded, also the Soviets would not have had American supplies which could have possibly delayed efforts on the eastern front for months.

This is actually a difficult one.....but I'll choose the Chinese VS. Japanese. Sure, the Eastern Front (which is my second favorite )saw lots of action and was one of the bloodiest fronts, but the Chinese front saw 2 Chinese governments(?) who were at a civil war, setting aside their political beliefs and hatred to fight a common enemy (Funny thing was, Chiang Kai Shek had to be arrested by his own general, which would convince him to work with the Communist Chinese...)

The Xi'an incident is what I am assuming you are referring to.

My favourite 2ww scenario is the eastern front. "We could have underestimated the soviets power. Everytime we destroy 12 divisions they replace them with 12 divisions"
