Retirement bored me too much, so I showed up!
Sorry for the heartache and drama, but there is a reason for it (it's called stress), and I'm not proud of it.
Not sure if I'll be a moderator or a regular member, that's still being worked out.

Welcome back! I'm glad you have returned. It may not be my place, but I'd like to say I'd support you being a moderator again. You did such a good job last time (sure some people got annoyed now and thenbut being a mod is about doing the best thing for the forum not pleasing everyone (says Frederick the Great who is not a mod )).

Oh great, if he leaves moderator again MORE resistance to going up post count. Soon enough the first page will just be duplicates.
Still, great to hear you are back.

I feel that for the time being, The Spanish Inquisition should have to wait for some time before he is allowed to resume a moderator's duties. I understand that we all make mistakes in a rash decision, but so be it, an impulsive decision should have ramifications to be lived with. I'm not saying that I don't trust him to be a good moderator, but I think resignation is a decision that holds a large amount of influence on this forum and shouldn"t be taken so lightly. I believe that saltin & the forum staff team may have sufficient trust in him to allow him back onto the team (let me know if I am wrong, ofc!). But I think it's best to not allow Picard to rejoin immediately. A waiting period is advised. Maybe it can be 2 months, or if that's too long, then 6 weeks perhaps? Really, this decision is fully on the shoulders of the staff team, not mine or any other member.

Well, all returning members are welcome of course and you always had a place in the EFC community The Spanish Inquisition, you already know that.Staff positions are normally only discussed within the existing moderation team so I won't publicly add any comments on this. Everyone takes a break at some point, we cant all be super active all of the time but EFC door is always open to whoever wants to be active again!

If the door was closed, none of our 1500 members could have gotten in

My two cents are that The Spanish Inquisition did a brilliant job as a moderator, he had a very positive impact on the forum. It wasn't like he left under any bad circumstances, he just needed some time off. He wasn't away for very long either. If he was gone for a few months then sure, I agree he shouldn't get a staff position back but I think since he was hardly gone for a week making him wait a couple of months is a bit harsh, especially because of his potive impact here. Of course I'm not a staff so I understand I don't really get a say. I just wanted to put forward my thoughts.

I'd rather any discussions about my possible future on the staff be conducted in private, as it is meant to be done. Thanks all for cooperating.
