Mine is currently a pic of Air Force One, which I snapped in Tel Aviv's Airport a few years back. Before that it was me and my dog, who everyone in the History Forum knows as Mad Doggo.
What's your desktop background?

Anything but team harmony Bismarck Jr. I swear I would join the fire team just to spite them. Mine used to be Orlowski's painting of an Polish Hussar, but my laptop hates me. ( Quintus Fabius, return to us!) So its currently mountains or whatever. Did you know on a clear day you can see the mountains in Calgary Alberta? They are always there. #CanadaStronk Speaking of Polish Hussars, history lesson! I was a Frankish Knight, a Polish Jew. bla bla bla die in Stalingrad.

I've actually been meaning to change my background for a while now, cause the siege meme I had is a little out of date. Thanks for reminding me!

I use backgrounds from an artist on a site called Digital Blasphemy. I'm thinking of putting a membership in again but a lifetime one this time to support this epic and amazing graphics business. I still have maybe 70 files (out of his collection of maybe 3,000-something). I don't set a specific one as my background but a folder of those pictures. So they flip through the pictures randomly selected in every 15 seconds. Google "Digital Blasphemy", and you will find it easily. His artwork is basically creating a complicated and cool landscape from scratch in a 3D modeling program. Unlike other 3D artists, he really does the details incredibly well. I don't praise art lightly, so I do mean what I said wholeheartedly. saltin, I don't know if this recommendation counts as advertising, but it's related to what I use as my desktop backgrounds and this artist is really one of the best, and deserves a recommendation (considering that he has been honing his handicraft for over 15 years now, it's not a surprise).

It wouldnt be an ad,go for it. Okay then here it is: Looking for a cool desktop background? I recommend people take a look at the art made over there on Digital Blasphemy. He's a self-employed English and Computer Science graduate from the University of Iowa. His name is Ryan Bliss. Quoted from the Wikipedia about his artwork: "Typical designs include science fiction and fantasy, space imagery, planetscapes, landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, underwater scenes, interiors, abstracts, fractals, and images depicting seasons and seasonal events, special occasions, and holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, the Fourth of July, Saint Patrick's Day, and Valentine's Day." To be honest, pretty much all of those wallpapers are pure awesomeness and goodness. Even mozzilla firefix has a couple of persona skins stemming from his work (by permission ofc). Those works also got recommendations from two huge zines: PC World and Lifehacker. Worth taking a look, trust me.
